Daultan scores two in big win
Game #2 Friday from St. Catharines

The St. Catharines Mountainview Homes Falcons opened
their semifinal series against the Niagara Falls Canucks with a huge 2-1
win inside Niagara Falls Memorial Arena Wednesday night. The win for the
Falcons extends their playoff winning streak to five games.

There was no scoring in the first period, though St.
Catharines registered 23 shots compared to the Canucks 8. There were only
2 penalties called in the first 20 minutes of play, with each team receiving
one infraction.

Daultan Leveille scored first Wednesday night when he
beat Canucks netminder Ryan Ludzik with an even-strength marker just 2:27
into the second period of play. Leveille's 6th goal of the season was
assisted by linemates Chris Stevenson and Brad Jackson.
Niagara Falls evened the game at 16:08 of the same period
on the power-play when Mike Kusy's soft shot beat Falcons goaltender Steele
De Fazio. Kyle Jukosky and Shawn Connors added helpers on the tying goal.
The Falcons continued to dominate the Canucks with shots on net, leading
41-22 after 40 mintues of play.

The game was tied for less than 2 minutes in the third
period after Falcons forward Leveille scored his second of the night just
1:45 into the period. Stevenson and Jackson recorded assists again.
The Canucks were unable to tie the game for a second
time, even with their goalie pulled with a minute to play at the end of
the game. The win for St. Catharines gives them a (1-0) lead in the semifinal
series.

Game #2 of the best-of-seven series kicks off Friday
night inside Jack Gatecliff Arena. Game time is set for 7:30pm at St.
Catharines.
