The first period was scoreless, but both teams had their
chances. The Falcons had at least two chances alone in front of the Canucks
netminder, but couldn't scrape it past Ryan Ludzik. Niagara Falls had
goaltender Steele De Fazio beat on two separate plays but missed the net.
The first 20 minutes of play ended with the Falcons leading in shots on
net at 19-6.
The second period was similar to the first. Both the
Falcons and the Canucks had chances, but couldn't find the back of the
net. Without a doubt St. Catharines had more chances, including a 2-on-1
that ended with Stephen Ceccanese hitting the post, but it was still anyone's
game at the half way point of the game.

In what looked like a harmless play at the Falcons blueline,
Falcons forward Ryan Elbers was given a 5 minute major penalty for checking
from behind and a game misconduct with 9:34 to play in the second period.
The Falls were also penalized on the play, with Shawn Kavanaugh given
a 2 minute roughing infraction, along with a 10 misconduct.
Vladimir Bessonov scored his best goal of the season
to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead at the 15:41 minute mark of the second
period. After serving Ryan Elber's 5 minute major, Bessonov jumped out
of the penalty box, picked up the puck in his own end, skated the length
of the ice and beat the Canucks goalie for his second goal of the playoffs,
unassisted.
The goal held up as the Falcons skated into the second
intermission with a 1-0 lead. The Mountainview Homes Falcons also owned
a 40 minute lead over shots on net at 25-17.

The Falcons one goal lead held past the halfway mark
of the third period after decent scoring chances by the Canucks. The Falcons
also attacked the Canucks net, with Falcons defenseman Kevin Floris hitting
another post. Former Falcon Jeff Amadio took a 10 minute misconduct at
the 8:34 mark of the period for what looked like a delay of game.

With the Canucks net empty, Riley Sheahan grabbed his
second goal of the post-season with an empty-net marker with under 4 seconds
to play in the game. The insurance goal sealed the Canucks fate, and gave
the Falcons a 3-1 series lead in the GOJHL Golden Horseshoe division semifinal
best-of-seven series.

The attendance announced Tuesday night inside Jack Gatecliff
Arena was 673 screaming fans.
Game #5 of the series takes place this Friday, March
21st, when the Mountainview Homes Falcons visit the Canucks inside Niagara
Falls Memorial Arena. Game time on Good Friday is set for 7:30pm.
