The Falcons finally found their way on to the scoreboard
in the third period with a power-play goal from forward Stephen Ceccanese.
Chris Garbacz assisted on Ceccanese's 5th goal of the postseason, which
tied the game 1-1.
Niagara Falls grabbed the lead again, scoring at the
halfway point of the period. Mike Kusy found his 8th goal of the playoffs
at the 10:24 minute mark, with help from McFarland and Joel Scott.
St. Catharines forward Brandon McGregor scored his first
goal of the playoffs, and fifth of the season, to tie the game 2-2 with
5:33 to play in the final period of regulation play. Though the Falcons
pressed for the last five minutes of play, the Canucks dumped the puck
and awaited overtime.
After a flood, the first 20 minute sudden death overtime
period was fast and furious for both hockey clubs. Eventually, it was
the Falcons who would prevail and score the overtime winner. Brad Jackson
beat Ludzik at the 10:15 minute mark to end the game and the series for
the Canucks. The entire Falcons bench poured on to the ice to celebrate
their victory, which advances them to the Golden Horseshoe division championship
best-of-seven series against the Thorold Blackhawks.

The Falcons have the weekend off to rest before the final
series against the Blackhawks kicks off. Once the final round schedule
is set, it will be published here as soon as possible. Check back often!
