FALCONS WIN IN OVERTIME
Forces Game #7 on Monday in Thorold

Game #6 of the best-of-seven championship series between
the Thorold Blackhawks and the St. Catharines Mountainview Falcons opened
Friday night to the largest crowd inside Jack Gatecliff Arena this season.

The Mountainview Falcons scored first in the game, trying
to set an early tone. Brad Jackson scored a power-play goal 13:27 into
the game, with assists to Riley Sheahan and defenseman Adam Moroney.
Thorold tied the game 1-1 just over 3 minutes later with
a goal from Eric Defelice. Jim Durham gave Thorold a 2-1 lead one minute
later, which would hold up until the end of the period. The Falcons outshot
the Blackhawks 18-13 in the first.

The second period resulted in a goal for both clubs.
CJ Dickson scored for Thorold, while Stephen Ceccanese found the back
of the net for the Falcons. The score after 40 minutes of play was 3-2
for Thorold. The Falcons owned a 2-period total of 25-21 in shots on net.

The third period was similar to the second. Both Thorold
and the Falcons scored, to make the score 4-3 by the 6 minute mark of
the period. Brad Jackson scored his second goal of the game, another power-play
marker, while Mario Cote scored for Thorold.
With the Falcons season on the line, and less than 42
second to play in the third period, Falcons captain Kevin Floris ripped
a shot past Blackhawks goaltender Rick Scarsella to tie the game 4-4.
The Jack Gatecliff Arena erupted as Falcons fans screamed in celebration.
Chris Stevenson and Moroney assisted on the goal that forced overtime.

The Falcons only needed 3:45 of overtime to finish the
game, when St. Catharines forward Daultan Leveille scored the overtime
winner to give the Falcons the victory, and force a Game #7 back in Thorold
on Monday. Game time from Thorold's Community Arena is set for 7:30pm.

Attendance inside Jack Gatecliff Arena Friday night was
announced at 1,928 fans.
