Falcons back in action at JGA

The St. Catharines Mountainview Homes Falcons opened
the doors to the Jack Gatecliff Arena Friday night and welcomed the Fort
Erie Meteors in their first game of the 2007-08 regular season.

The Meteors scored first but it was the Falcons who would
dominate most of the game and eventually take the final score 8-4.

Scoring for the Falcons in the first period included
Daultan Leveille (2), JT MacDonald and Chris Garbacz. Jake Noel and Marcus
Quinlin made the score, in favour of the Falcons, 4-2 after two periods.

The Meteors grabbed another marker in the third period
to bring the game within one goal, but the Falcons notched an insurance
goal with 9:16 left to go up 5-3. Brandon McGregor made the score 6-3
for the Falcons late in the third period.
The Falcons added three more third period goals to make
the score 8-4 before the end of regulation time.

Attendance at the Jack Gatecliff Arena Friday night in
front of the Falcons fans was 674.
The Falcons next game is on the road against the Welland
Jr. Canadians on Sunday, September 16th at 7:05pm.
The Falcons are back home for action inside the JGA on
Tuesday, September 18th at 7:00pm when the Niagara Falls Canucks come
to town.
Falcons 2nd at F.E. tournament

The St. Catharines Mountainview Homes Falcons took 2nd
place overall Sunday afternoon at the GHL pre-season tournament in Fort
Erie.
The Falcons went undefeated all weekend before dropping
the tournament championship match 5-3 to the Brantford Golden Eagles of
the Mid-Western Hockey League.
Returning Falcons forward Daulton Levielle scored two
for St. Catharines, while Tanner Goode notched one in the second period
to keep the score close in the final game.
St. Catharines dominated the tournament all weekend starting
with a 7-2 lashing of the Thorold Blackhawks on Thursday. The next day,
the Chatham Maroons fell 4-1 to the Falcons.
In a repeat match of the GHL final round series from
2006-07, the Niagara Falls Canucks were dropped 5-2 by the Mountainview
Homes Falcons. The win pushed the Falcons into the semi-finals against
the Welland Jr. Canadians.
The Falcons advanced to the finals against Brantford
with a 6-1 win over the Canadians Sunday morning.
