The Falcons troubles continued in the third period, when
Thorold scored their fourth goal of the game 2:33 into the third. Zach
Graham netted the goal, with help from McAvoy and Mario Cote. The goal
all but snuffed out the Falcons offence in front of 1,323 fans inside
the Jack Gatecliff Arena.
The Falcons grabbed a late marker on the power-play from
St. Catharines defenseman Mike Stone to make the score 4-2 in favour of
the Blackhawks. Daultan Leveille assisted on goal at the 18:00 minute
mark.
The game ended in a 4-2 loss for the Falcons, only their
second loss on the season not including overtime losses. But a loss is
a loss, and they sting even more when they are delivered by their escarpment
rivals, the Thorold Blackhawks.

The Falcons next game is on the road when they visit
the Warriors in Stoney Creek on Saturday, October 13th. The puck drops
at 7:30pm inside the Valley Park Arena.
The Falcons next home game is Friday, October 19th, when
the Welland Jr. Canadians make their first stop to the Jack Gatecliff
Arena. Game time inside the Jack is 7:30pm.

From one champion to another, congratulations
to our main sponsor, Mountainview Homes, for winning the 2007 Ontario
Home Builder of the Year award during a ceremony at Blue Mountain Resort
in Collingwood on September 28th.
Along with Mark Basciano, the Falcons would like to congratulate Rick
Proderberac and Mike Memme, as well as the entire Mountainview Homes
staff, for their continued strive for excellence amongst builders in
the Niagara Region. A job well done, Mountainview Homes.
