Falcons bounce back with win

The St. Catharines Mountainview Homes Falcons bounced
back with a big 5-2 win over the Stoney Creek Warriors Saturday night.
The win came one night after dropping Friday night's home game 4-2 to
the Thorold Blackhawks.
Riley Steeves opened the scoring at 3:32 of the first
period for Stoney Creek. Another Riley in the game, Riley Sheahan of St.
Catharines, scored the only other 1st period goal, at the 8:29 minute
mark, sending the game into the first intermission tied 1-1.

The Falcons scored two second period power-play goals
to jump out to a 3-1 lead before the 5 minute mark of the period. Chris
Stevenson and Adam Moroney put the points up on the scoreboard for St.
Catharines.
Adam Montgomery scored a power-play goal for the Warriors
in the 2nd period to cut the Falcons lead to 3-2 before the 2nd intermission.

Riley Sheahan scored his second goal of the game in the
third period to give the Falcons another 2 goal lead. His unassisted goal
came at 6:01.

Jeff Amadio added an empty-net goal at 19:38 of the third
to make the final score 5-2 in favour of the visiting Falcons.
Steele De Fazio turned away 29 shots for the win, while
Garrett Driscoll made 26 saves in a losing effort for Stoney Creek.
The Falcons next home game is Friday, October 19th, when
the Welland Jr. Canadians make their first stop to the Jack Gatecliff
Arena. Game time inside the Jack is 7:30pm.
