Blades losing woes continue

The Wheatfield Jr. Blades showed their faces for the
first time inside Jack Gatecliff Arena this season, bringing along new
head coach, and former Falcons head coach, Chris Johnstone.

The Falcons scored first between the two clubs, grabbing
their first marker of the game 6:23 into the first period. Mike Stone
and Stephen Ceccanese assisted on the goal. The first period ended with
the Falcons holding a 1-0 lead over the Jr. Blades.

The second period had less action than the first, with
neither team creating any good scoring chances. Steele De Fazio kept guard
of the posts for the Falcons, while the Jr. Blades chose to dress Blake
Dougherty for their defense Friday night.

Daultan Leveille scored a short-handed goal late in the
second period to give St. Catharines a 2-0 over Wheatfield. Stone and
JT MacDonald added helpers on the second goal of the night. The Falcons
took to dressing room for the second intermission holding on to a 2-0
lead.

The Falcons burst open with 2 goals in the third period
to take a 4-0 lead over the Jr. Blades. Chris Garbacz and JT MacDonald
(unassisted) scored the Falcons third and fourth goal, respectively. Brandon
McGregor and Zack Jones assisted on Garbacz's goal.
Down four goals and desperate to change the tone of the
game, Wheatfield forward Ian Braun squared off against Falcons defenseman
Andre Abayof which signalled the end of the game for the Jr. Blades.

The Falcons added their fifth goal of the game at the
11:53 minute mark to give Leveille his second goal of the game, on the
power-play. Adam Moroney and Dylan McInnis assisted on the play.
The game ended with the Falcons winning 5-0, taking their
8th win of the season and handing the Jr. Blades their 14th loss on the
year.
Attendance inside the Jack Gatecliff Arena Friday night
was 791 fans.

The Falcons play their next game on the road Saturday,
October 27th, when they visit the West Side Arena in Port Colborne to
face the Sailors for the first time this season. Game time in Port is
7:30pm.
November is already here fans, and you can catch your
Falcons at home next Friday, November 2nd, when the Thorold Blackhawks
make their way to the Jack Gatecliff Arena for a 7:30pm start. Don't miss
this one as your Mountainview Falcons will be looking to bounce back from
an earlier loss in October against their escarpment rivals.
