Jackson nets two in Falcons tie

The seventh place Fort Erie Meteors were back for round
#2 inside Jack Gatecliff Arena Friday night after losing 8-4 in the Falcons
home opener back in September of this season.
Riley Sheahan scored his 10th goal for the Falcons this
year to open the scoring in the first period Friday evening against the
Meteors. His 4th power-play goal of the season came unassisted 3:56 into
the game.

Brad Jackson made the score 2-0 in favour of the Falcons
at the 14:09 mark of the same period. Chris Stevenson assisted on the
only other goal before the end of the period. The Falcons outshot the
Meteors 21-5 in the first.

The Meteors broke on to the scoresheet in the second
period with a power-play goal from Cory Giroux 1:28 into the period. Fort
Erie tied the game 2-2 three minutes later with another power-play marker,
this time from forward Kyle Steckley of the Meteors. Andrew Letwin assisted
on both of Fort Erie's second period goals.
The Falcons and Meteors tied 9-9 with shots on net in
the second period, while the Falcons still outshot the Meteors 30-14 after
40 minutes of play.
A total of 8 penalties were called in the first two periods,
with St. Catharines taking 5 and Fort Erie being called for 3.

The Meteors scored a quick goal to start the third period
, jumping out to a 3-2 lead at 1:46 into the final regulation period.
Ian Fairgrieve and Lucas Van Natter added assists on the goal.
St. Catharines tied the game up with another power-play
goal at 9:08 of the third with Brad Jackson's second goal of the game
for the Falcons. Adam Moroney assisted on the tying goal with less than
11 minutes to play in the game.

The game remained tied after 60 minutes of play and a
5 minute 4-on-4 overtime period was required to settle Friday night's
match. A penalty called on former Falcons forward Tanner Goode at 3:36
of the overtime period gave St. Catharines a 4-on-3 advantage with 1:24
left in the extra period, but the Falcons couldn't capitalize on the power-play
and the game ended in a 3-3 tie.
Yvon Boulet turned away 23 shots for St. Catharines Friday
night, while Jeff Broeker stopped 39 for Fort Erie. Attendance inside
Jack Gatecliff Arena Friday night was announced at 630 screaming fans!

The Falcons hit the road on Sunday, November 25th, when
they visit the Welland Jr. Canadians inside Main Arena. Game time is set
for 7:05pm.
St. Catharines continues their road trip Tuesday, November
27th, when the Falcons visit the Wheatfield Jr. Blades inside Buffalo
State Arena. The puck drops at 7:30pm.
The Niagara Falls Canucks are back at Jack Gatecliff
Arena next Friday, November 30th, as the Falcons try to rebound after
a recent 5-0 shutout against the Canucks. Game time at the 'Jack' is set
for 7:30pm.
