04-Dec-2007 · 9:20pm
Striking first is definitely a good thing against a
team like the Welland Jr. Canadians! The Mountainview Homes Falcons scored
the first goal of the game Tuesday night inside Jack Gatecliff Arena to
set the tone for the entire evening.
The only goal of the first period was netted by Falcons
forward Daultan Leveille, who scored his 16th goal of the season, on the
power-play, to give St. Catharines a 1-0 lead. Riley Sheahan and captain
Kevin Floris assisted on the goal at the 18:16 minute mark.
Falcons goaltender Steele De Fazio stopped all 14 shots
faced in the first, while Welland goalie Chris Wills turned away 12 of
13 shots. Penalties were called evenly at three a piece.
