Falcons drum Thorold 3-2
11-Jan-2008 · 9:45pm
With girls and boys hockey teams from Denis Morris High
School to drop the opening puck, D.M.'s own "Trial and Temptation"
live band to lead the warmup, and the Denis Morris drummers to help support
the Falcons during the game, it was quite the event Friday night against
the visiting Thorold Blackhawks.

with the Falcons owning a 1-0 lead over the Blackhawks. Shots favoured

St. Catharines grabbed a 2-1 lead early in the third
period with Dan Ziraldo's 4th goal of the season at the 2:57 minute mark.
Mike Stone and Ryan Elbers added helpers on the goal.
Thorold answered right back, tying the game once again
Friday night. Shane Davidson netted his second goal of the game, on the
power-play, with another assist going to Aucoin. Time of the goal for
the Blackhawks was 4:33 in the third.
The Falcons took a bench minor for too many men on the
ice penalty just past the half way mark of the third period, but it didn't
help the Blackhawks out with tying the game. St. Catharines stole the
lead once again, this time with an even-strength goal from Brad Jackson
at the 14:36 mark of the third. JT MacDonald assisted on the go-ahead
goal making the score 3-2 in favour of St. Catharines with 5:24 to play.
With goaltender Marcus Menard pulled, the Blackhawks
couldn't hit the back of the Falcons net with an extra attacker on the
ice, and St. Catharines dropped the Blackhawks 3-2 in front of a loud
crowd of 1,218 fans inside Jack Gatecliff Arena.

The Falcons have the weekend off, with no games scheduled
until the following weekend.
The Falcons next game is at home on Friday, January 18th,
when the Welland Jr. Canadians visit Jack Gatecliff Arena for a 7:30pm
start.
