Falcons lose 3rd game in a row

St. Catharines played just over 30 minutes of good hockey
Thursday night until it all came crashing down in the second period against
the Thorold Blackhawks. With a two goal lead over Thorold at the halfway
mark of the second, the Falcons allowed three unanswered goals and an
empty-netter to make the final score 4-2 in favour of Thorold.

Both teams played to a scoreless first period, but it
was Stephen Ceccanese of St. Catharines who scored first in the second
period. Ceccanese grabbed a power-play marker at the 8:26 minute mark.
The Falcons went up 2-0 with an unassisted goal from Daultan Leveille
a little under four minutes later.

Then the Blackhawks opened the flood gates inside Thorold's
Main Arena. Zach Graham, Ryan Bellows and Kevin Ward (PP) all scored in
the remaining 8 minutes of the second period to go up 3-2 over the visiting
Falcons. Ward's goal came with just four seconds to play in the period.

Former Falcon Jason Aucoin scored an empty-net goal for
Thorold in the third period with just 43 seconds left to play. Aucoin's
unassisted goal added to the two assists he grabbed in the third period,
which netted him the game's first star.
The Falcons play next at home inside Jack Gatecliff Arena
this Friday night when the Wheatfield Jr. Blades visit St. Catharines.
Game time at the Jack is set for 7:30pm.
