Sunday was a wakeup call for Falcons as the playoffs
rapidly approach. They skated into Welland to face the Jr. Canadians Sunday
night only to be turned away with an 8-3 loss. Adrian Volpe recorded his
first loss in net of the season for the Mountainview Homes Falcons.

St. Catharines took a 1-0 lead in the first period with
Daultan Leveille's 28th goal of the season, only to allow 5 goals in the
second period at the hand of the Canadians. Three of those five were power-play
goals, but none-the-less the markers silenced the Falcons bench.

The Falcons added two goals in the third period, from
Dylan McInnis and captain Kevin Floris, but Welland added three more to
overwhelmingly defeat the Falcons with a final score of 8-3. Shots were
even 36-36 after 60 minutes of play. Matt Hansell notched the win in net
for Welland.

Scoring for Welland Sunday evening was Jeremy Reese (2),
John Aitken (2), Ryan Joseph (2), Adam Duliban, and Kyle Gillier.

The Falcons next game is at home inside Jack Gatecliff
Arena on Friday, February 15th, when the Niagara Falls Canucks visit St.
Catharines. Game time is set for 7:30pm sharp.
Catch the Falcons complete their home-and-away series
against the Canucks when St. Catharines travels east on the Q.E.W. to
Niagara Falls on Saturday, February 16th. Game time from Memorial Arena
is 7:30pm.
