Stoney Creek wins in OT
12-Sep-2008 · 9:56pm
The Mountainview Falcons opened their second home game
of the season Friday night with a tribute to former forward Daultan Leveille,
who took to centre ice in a stretch limo before the start of the game.
Daultan was honoured for being drafted into the National Hockey League
29th overall to the Atlanta Thrashers back in June this summer.
With his family at his side, Daultan received an honourary
plaque from St. Catharines Minor Hockey Association President Albert Venneri.
He also received his framed Falcons #9 jersey, on behalf of the St. Catharines
Mountainview Falcons Hockey Organization.

Stoney Creek finally tied the game in the third period
after being down two goals. At 5-3 for the Falcons, Stoney Creek fought
back with goals from Shawn Dunsmuir and Mitchell Merante.
Tied after 60 minutes of play, the game was forced into
a 5-minute sudden death overtime period, and with the Falcons short a
man due to a careless penalty, the Warriors netted a power-play overtime
goal to secure the victory. The Falcons sneak away with a point for the
overtime loss and remain in first place overall.
Total attendance inside Jack Gatecliff Arena Friday night
was announced at 532 fans. Catch the Falcons in action next Friday when
they host the Welland Jr. Canadians for the first time this season. Game
time is 7:30pm inside the Jack.
