Falcons blank Jr. Maroons

Inside the St. Catharines Seymour-Hannah Sports &
Entertainment Complex, on Rink #1, the St. Catharines Mountainview Homes
Falcons faced the Chatham Jr. Maroons in the GOJHL Thanksgiving Weekend
Hockey Showcase, featuring all 26 teams of the Greater Ontario Junior
Hockey League.

The Falcons scored the only two goals of the first period,
with each of the Riley's finding the back of the Chatham net. Riley Sheahan
(PP) scored the opening marker at the 5:45 minute mark. Riley Jakobschuk
scored 9 minutes later to make the score 2-0 for St. Catharines.
The Falcons led in shots on net 9-7 over Chatham at the
end of 20 minutes of play.

The Jr. Maroons remained scoreless in the second period
as well, withSt. Catharines goaltender Jeff Sinclair turning away all
seven shots. The Falcons beat Chatham's netminder Mike Ostropolec for
their third goal of the game, from defenseman Adam Moroney.

The third period was no different for the Falcons or
the Jr. Maroons, as St. Catharines continued to score and Chatham remained
off the scoreboard. The final score at the end of 60 minutes of play was
6-0 for St. Catharines, with Sinclair registering his 6th win of the season
and his 3rd shutout.
The Falcons next game is Sunday, October 12th, at 4:00pm,
when the Mountainview Homes Falcons face the Sarnia Legionnaires. This
is their final game of the GOJHL Thanksgiving Weekend Hockey Showcase
from the St. Catharines Seymour-Hannah Sports & Entertainment Complex.
